Dear Dolly

Pardon me, Ms. Parton,

Just a moment of your time,

You see, you've always set me right

With just some rhythm and a rhyme.

I was hoping we could ask of you,

So benevolent and wise,

If you could read us one more tune

To unite us, under rainbow skies.

This coat we've made has gotten frayed

And needs some patching up,

And so, Dear Dolly, we come to you

To fill our empty cups.

Could you sing us one more melody

That teaches us the way?

Dear Dolly, please let us hear it soon

Before the Darkest Day!

I'd bought myself

A big, sequin dress

To celebrate a pioneer,

Instead of a mess.

Dear Dolly, please hear us,

Your sparkling tribe!

We are ready to shine

and unwilling to hide!

Now, I'm not Jolene,

No threat to their joy.

I'm also no King's subject,

And no deceiver's toy.

Please help us, Dear Dolly!

We don't know who else could

Bring back light to our eyes,

That teaches us good!
